Now: quiet, abandoned and forgotten for decades, its former beauty still tangible.Enter a majestic theater with elegant balconies worthy of royalty. For a time, it was the heart of the local nightlife in this small Italian town. In its majestic grand hall: people’s hearts were touched, tears were shed, first kisses exchanged in the shadows, great villains were boo-ed and great heroes cheered by the crowds… Today, it’s difficult to make out the building from the outside, because it’s covered in a thick layer of green leaves. There is almost no safe way in anymore because many of the floors have collapsed so you have to scale the walls. The stage has long since fallen, but the beauty of this place’s history still glows in every fiber. Standing here, you are truly traveling in time. The Douglas C-47 “Dakota is parked and perfectly aligned in front of the enormous steel hanger doors, which have been literally placed in the side of a mountain. Somebody landed this plane on the runway many years ago and placed her there, clearly ready for departure at a moment&#x27;s notice. There is probably still fuel in the tanks. Do you think the pilot may have felt it somehow? That she would never fly again and would remain in this exact spot for more than 70 years, untouched and unseen by anyone. Until the day a Dutch photographer and his climbing partner would (illegally) brave several minefields and miles upon miles of wild nature to reach and capture the history that was still hidden between her wings. During the vernissage, you will not only be able to explore these and many other visions of history through Daanoe’s beautiful photography and his personal stories of how he discovered and entered these (often forbidden) places. NOW you will be able, using the latest technology, to actually step into the pictures and experience them yourself as if you are truly standing there, traveling in time!We hope you will grace us by adding your story to this moment in future history.
