Anywhere: Holiday Crafts and Cards for  Seniors  thru 12/19/22

We empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. Check back frequently, as we post new service opportunities on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Seeds of Caring

Children will make holiday crafts and cards for seniors living at local senior living communities.

Who this Anywhere Project is for:Ages 2-12. Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org.What you&#x27;ll be doing:Help us bring holiday cheer to seniors! Everyone, including seniors, wants to feel cheerful, loved, and connected to people around them this time of year. Children will explore intergenerational relationships and learn why seniors can experience loneliness during the holidays. Then helping hands will spread smiles by making and mailing holiday crafts and cards for seniors living at <a href="https://www.nationalchurchresidences.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NCR </a>and <a href="https://cmhanet.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CMHA </a>senior living communities.When you&#x27;ll be doing it:This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are! This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate as often as they’d like until the project ends on December 19th. Mailing addresses <a href="https://www.nationalchurchresidences.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>will be included in the service packet link found in your confirmation email.How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.The meaning-making:Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you&#x27;ll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project&#x27;s guided discussion focuses on community building and seniors.Approximate Cost: Less than $5. Use crafts supplies on hand to make crafts on cards.Why you&#x27;ll be invited to donate:Every time we&#x27;re able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it&#x27;s with the help of supporters like you.
