Arizona Center for Civic Leadership hosts Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board (CAWCD)candidates in the 2022 general election.

In partnership with the Arizona Clean Elections Commission, the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership will host a webinar on Thursday, October 13 at 6:00 p.m. for Arizonans to hear from Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board (CAWCD) candidates in the 2022 general election.<a href="https://www.cap-az.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Central Arizona Project</a> delivers water to Maricopa, Pinal, and Pima counties, serving more than 80% of the state’s population. The CAWCD <a href="https://www.cap-az.com/board/board-members/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Board of Directors</a> serves as the governing body for the CAP. The elected 15-member CAWCD board includes ten members from Maricopa County, four from Pima County, and one from Pinal County. Members serve six-year, unpaid terms, meeting the first Thursday of each month to establish policy and set rates and taxes for the Central Arizona Project.CAWCD Board Immediate Past President Lisa Atkins will begin the webinar with an overview of CAP and the roles of responsibilities of the CAWCD Board. Gary Grado, Managing Editor, Arizona Capitol Times, will then introduce the candidates and if time permits, will manage a short Q&amp;A with them.All candidates on the ballot have been invited by Arizona Clean Elections. Each candidate who attends will be given five minutes to introduce themselves and provide their insights to the audience, after which each candidate will be asked one question by the facilitator.The intention of this session is to introduce candidates to their constituencies. There will be no debate or town-hall style questions, and the chat function will be disabled during the webinar. It will be recorded for future viewing.
