Brown Enough is a roller coaster of finding one&#x27;s true self while simultaneously having a racial awakening amidst the struggle to be &quot;perfectly&quot; Latinx, woke, and as Brown as possible to make it in today&#x27;s America.Its pages are full of honest explorations of love, sex, fake-it-till-you-make-it ambition, bad Spanish, color, code-switching, white-washing, scandal, Hollywood, and more. This memoir navigates these necessary and often revealing topics through fourteen chapters, each a distinct moment where Rivas explores his Brownness and how to own it.CHRISTOPHER RIVAS is an actor, author, podcaster, and storyteller best known for his on-screen work on the Fox series Call Me Kat. In addition, he hosts two podcasts on SiriusXM&#x27;s Stitcher: Rubirosa, a limited series about the life of Porfirio Rubirosa, and a weekly show, Brown Enough (premieres September 28, 2022). Rivas is simultaneously authoring a book, Brown Enough, that Row House Publishing is slated to release on October 11, 2022. He is a Ph.D. Candidate in Expressive Arts for Global Health &amp; Peace Building from the European Graduate School and a Rothschild Social Impact fellow. Rivas resides in Los Angeles, CA.MAYRA MACAÍS is the Chief Strategy Officer at Building Back Together, where she leads the political strategy and policy engagement for the organization which focuses on building support for the Biden-Harris Administration’s policy agenda. For more than a decade, Mayra has been playing a key role shaping our national politics. She is a highly sought-after organizer, educator, and political operative, Mayra was named one of the American Association of Political Consultants’ top “2019 40 Under 40.” Mayra grew up in Chicago’s southside, in the working-class family of Mexican immigrant parents and went on to attend Yale University, where she majored in American Studies and Ethnicity, Race &amp; Migration. After graduating, Mayra moved to Miami to work for Teach for America as a middle school Language Arts teacher in Liberty City at Charles R. Drew Middle School.Prior to joining Building Back Together, Mayra was the Executive Director of the Latino Victory Project, serving as national political director and vice president before taking the helm of the organization. Mayra was the architect behind Latino Victory’s 74% win rate in the 2018 cycle — playing a critical role in electing the most diverse congressional class in history. Mayra began her work in politics as a field organizer for the 2012 Obama campaign, working in the Little Havana office. After working in several issue-based campaigns, Mayra transitioned to the Florida Democratic Party, serving first as the Hispanic outreach director for South Florida and then as the deputy political director where she helped flip the Sarasota City Council. Mayra then transitioned from politics to policy by joining the Capitol Hill Fellowship, working for Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro, D-CT. Mayra returned to Florida the summer of 2016 and became the Florida Democratic Party’s political director — becoming the first Latina to hold this position. Mayra’s media appearances include MSNBC, CNN, CNN en español, Telemundo, and Univision. She has been featured on The New York Times, Time magazine, The Miami Herald, NBC News, Vox, Bloomberg, Business Insider, Politico, and The Hill. In 2020, Mayra was featured on the cover of the Yale Alumni Magazine as one of the Yale’s 50 Women in 150 Years, where she was profiled alongside other prominent alumna like Janet Yellen. Other awards include AT&amp;T Humanity of Connection 2019 Awardee, Prospanica DC 40 under 40, 2017 #BossGirl Awardee. Mayra has served on the national board of Planned Parenthood Action Fund since 2020.
