The 2022 series is organized by Marina Gluckman and Morgan Griffin and is fiscally sponsored by the <a href="https://secure.givelively.org/donate/brooklyn-arts-council/art-cake" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Brooklyn Arts Council</a>.During the residency period, each dancer is provided a studio at Art Cake to develop a solo or duet. Inspired and informed by the space and each artists’ personal investigation at this moment in time, the solos and duets will be presented side-by-side in a culminating performance, OCT 20 - 21, 2022.The program at Art Cake aims to highlight the importance of the dance community, and expand this community and audience in placing it in an alternative and new space based in Brooklyn&#x27;s Sunset Park neighborhood. The 13,000 square foot building was renovated by Smith &amp; Sauer, in close collaboration with the founders. It features a multi-room exhibition and event space that can accommodate a wide variety of events, from art exhibitions, installations, and performances, to film shoots, lectures, and dinners, on the ground floor and a complex of affordable artist studios on the second floor. The revenue generated from the multi-functional space on the ground floor allows Art Cake to maintain a self-sustaining model in support of artists working in New York City.Need help or have questions?
