Move Slowly: Dreamseeds Opening Reception

Sanahara Ama Chandra and Hannah Brancato are two artists and change-makers who meet in the power of collective storytelling, and the healing power of art. Our interdisciplinary creative practices enact and model ways to move from pain to power, and from isolation to collective experiences.Ama and Hannah are currently co-creatingDreamseeds, an installation of textiles, sound, and interactive components that invites current and budding activists and visionaries in Baltimore to develop visions for the future, at Gallery CA, October 7-November 11, 2022.

Please join us for <a href="http://dreamseeds.art/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Move Slowly: Dreamseeds, </a>a community healing space and art exhibit. Move Slowly: Dreamseeds features visual and sound “portraits” of five anti-sexual violence activists: Ignacio Rivera, Jadelynn St Dre, Alexis Flanagan, Sanahara Ama Chandra, and Nuala Cabral; and workshop participants from a series of five community workshops in Baltimore. These pieces create a heart filling homage to those who are dreaming and fighting their way into freedom, and a roadmap to help us head in that direction. You are invited to witness these stories and be part of an immersive and warm installation of textiles, sound, interactive components, and workshops, sharing your own reflections and visions for the future. During this exhibition, Gallery CA will be activated by an interactive installation, holistic healing workshops, art and music making, meditation, and other experiences centered on creating and sharing visions for a more just future. Move Slowly: Dreamseeds is the launch of a new and ongoing collaboration between Sanahara Ama Chandra and Hannah Brancato. ABOUT US:Sanahara Ama Chandra and Hannah Brancato first met as members of the collective <a href="https://upsettingrapeculture.com/pastprojects/gather-together/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Gather Together,</a> the Baltimore based group of survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence who created art and organized in community between 2016-2019. Now, they are using their gifts in art and teaching to launch Dreamseeds, a platform to create and share visions for the future.
