Title: Turkeys – Who Are They? And Why Should We Care?
Turkeys are one of the most misunderstood and mistreated birds in the world. They are hunted and factory farmed and ridiculed. They are the satirized icon of the American Thanksgiving table.
Karen Davis will explain who turkeys really are as opposed to how they are portrayed by exploiters and most news media. She will show that they are intelligent and emotional birds whose natural intelligence is alive and well despite the abuses of domestication that they have endured.
Karen Davis, activist, sanctuary owner, and author has written a book about the turkey “In history, myth, ritual, and reality” and has known several turkeys both male and female in her sanctuary, she has knowledge and direct experience with these beautiful sentient birds.This program is held on Zoom.
