Southeast Michigan EV Charging Stations Public Listening Sessions

Since 1981, EcoWorks, a Detroit-based nonprofit, has designed innovative programs and services at the intersection of sustainability, social justice, and community development. While our roots are firmly planted in energy conservation, we have grown to emphasize all aspects of sustainable development. Our programs advance healthy and affordable housing and utilities, equitable neighborhood development, education and job training, and municipal clean energy projects.

You're invited to participate in a 90-minute interactive discussion to shape the future of green transportation in Southeast Michigan.

The City of Detroit and Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties invite you to share your thoughts and help prepare Southeast Michigan for expanded Electrical Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure. The virtual public listening sessions will each be 90-minutes. Your participation will ensure tools developed for communities to install their own public chargers are relevant, equity-focused, and accessible. Facilitators will present information regarding electric vehicles in Michigan and our progress towards developing a community-facing toolkit, leading an interactive virtual discussion on: <ul><li>E﻿xisting conditions of your community </li><li>W﻿hat tools would be most helpful to include in a guiding toolkit</li><li>P﻿riorities for electric vehicle infrastructure development </li></ul>Y﻿our views will provide crucial information to help push us in the right direction for greener, cleaner transportation. We hope to see you there!T﻿o gather feedback from multiple groups, there will be three public listening sessions: <ul><li>S﻿eptember 22nd: Businesses, organizations, and governments that serve the region</li><li>S﻿eptember 27th: Wayne County and City of Detroit residents and community stakeholder organizations (e.g. non-profits, faith-based organizations, etc.)</li><li>O﻿ctober 6th: Macomb and Oakland County residents and community stakeholder organizations (e.g. non-profits, faith-based organizations, etc.) </li></ul>
