Since 1965, the Youth Homes team has provided services for young people who have experienced multiple traumas, abuse and neglect. What drives us is simple: helping young people heal and empowering them to lead lives of meaning.We serve families and young people (ages 4-25) in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a special emphasis on Contra Costa County.Because foster care is complex and expensive (both in the expertise required and in the resources needed), Youth Homes is one of the last remaining intensive treatment residential foster care agencies in the East Bay. The sad reality is this: The young people who are referred to us have nowhere else to turn.For more than five decades, our commitment to these at-risk young people has been seven simple words: We never give up on a kid.We have extraordinary practitioners in essential areas — mental health, behavioral health, residential treatment and care coordination. These resources — along with a gifted, dedicated staff, a hard working board, donors, volunteers and, most importantly, children and families who allow us into their lives — enable us to focus on doing the best work possible with every child in our care.Every child is different. Every family is different. But we find a way to engage all of them and help them initiate change in their lives. There isnoone size fits all. That means we customize our approach to address the unique needs of each child and each family.

Youth Homes Thrift Shop

Join friends, volunteers, and community partners at the Youth Homes Thrift Shop for an exclusive evening of shopping, mingling, and makeovers. Learn about how our store supports critical programs for local foster youth, hear about volunteer opportunities, meet Youth Homes staff, board members, and alumni. All proceeds will support local foster youth, and youth requiring mental health support.The Youth Homes Thrift Shop new fall collection is out in our store and we will have incredible deals on exclusive designer brand clothing. MK independent beauty consultants will be sharing their new fall makeup palette and offering free beauty sessions!Food and drink will be provided and ticket can be exchanged for $20 in thrift store merchandise. We look forward to seeing you for this fun and festive evening!
