2022 PROXY Fall Film Fest: LEAD ME HOME + Panel Discussion

PROXY is a temporary two-block project located in San Francisco which seeks to mobilize a flexible environment of food, art, culture, and retail within renovated shipping containers. PROXY is both a response and solution to the ever-changing urban lifecycle, existing as a temporary placeholder and an instigator of evolving cultural curiosities in art, food, retail and events. Our design embraces the vast diversity of a city and encourages the rotation of new ideas and businesses as well as innovative public art installations which come and go like new visitors at the site.HERE FOR NOW creates centers of cultural vibrancy through temporary art and design interventions. As an arts institution without walls, it provides equitable access to enrichment that spans public and private spheres. Through collaborations with artists and arts organizations, HERE FOR NOW works to educate and inspire, leaving a lasting legacy of optimism, promise, and a renewed sense of community.  HERE FOR NOW is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.Together, PROXY + HERE FOR NOW create something special for temporary places.

The 2022 PROXY Fall Series of outdoor cinema continues on Friday, September 30th at the PROXY Community Walk-in Theater with:<h1></h1><h1>Lead Me Home</h1>Directed by Pedro Kos, Jon Shenk, 2021 [PG-13]Special panel discussion with the director and San Francisco residents featured in the film. More than 500,000 people experience homelessness every night in America, with over 7,700 people in San Francisco alone. Lead Me Home presents this epidemic of homelessness in America with a show-don't-tell approach, featuring candid testimonials from those who rest their heads in shelters, tent cities, and anywhere a night's sleep can be found. This short film is intentionally a study of contrasts - showing clips of housed individuals against those on the streets - whose basic needs and lives are not so different yet drastically so. Presented by <a href="http://www.herefornowsf.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">HERE FOR NOW</a>, these FREE, evening film screenings at the PROXY Walk-In Theater begin at dusk with ‘doors’ opening at 6:00 pm. Come early to claim a good spot, enjoy a frosty <a href="https://fortpointbeer.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Fort Point Beer</a>, wine from <a href="https://www.figandthistlesf.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Fig &amp; Thistle</a> (all proceeds support outdoor cinema at PROXY!), and delicious fare from local food trucks.<a href="https://fortpointbeer.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>At PROXY, we celebrate diversity both on the screen, behind the camera, and in the audience.
