Sound and Rhythm is a place for students of all ages and experience levels. The private lessons and group classes that have been described to me as being fun, inspiring and relaxing. For many, discovering they are capable of playing is a big revelation. But almost everyone has rhythm. Students love discovering that yes, they can play percussion and/or drums.

His patience, passion, and precision makes him one of the most sought-after and legendary teachers. His love for his Malinke culture and his students is remarkable. Students are changed forever as they enter the Bolokada workshop and practice and discover the magnificent depth and complexity of Malinke music and folklore.“You will learn the Malinke djembe rhythm and accompaniment on the sangban, kenkeni, and dundunba, plus solo technique… and the story of the rhythm and why we play each song.” –BolokadaBolokada will teach three classes, Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced. While there is a class for every level. A professional could get something out of the beginning class and a beginner could get something out of the advanced class. We encourage you to take all three. We will provide each students with a video of the class as well as a play along track. This is an online class. A link will be sent after registration. For the best experience we recommend using headphones and plugging in directly into a computer’s ethernet.
