Anywhere: Compassion Kits for Unhoused Neighbors thru 11.29.22

We empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds. Check back frequently, as we post new service opportunities on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Seeds of Caring

Children will gain empathy for our unhoused neighbors and then use their helping hands to assemble Compassion Kits and make cheer cards.

Who this Anywhere Project is for: Ages 2 - 12.Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org What you&#x27;ll be doing: Explore the many faces of individuals who are unhoused and our everyday opportunities to be helpers. During this project, children will build empathy for our unhoused neighbors and then helping hands will pack Compassion Kits and decorate cheer cards that will be distributed to neighbors in need by the <a href="https://www.csb.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Community Shelter Board</a>. Keep one kit in your car for when you see someone who needs help!When you&#x27;ll be doing it:This Anywhere Project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are! This project is on-going. Families and groups may participate anytime until the project ends on November 29th. Donations may be contact-free, porch-dropped from 9am - 7pm November 25th-27th at a Seeds of Caring volunteer&#x27;s home in Dublin, Upper Arlington or Grove City at the address provided in the service packet. OR drop donations November 28th-29th at the Seeds of Caring home office in Worthington. How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.The meaning-making: Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you&#x27;ll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project&#x27;s guided discussion focuses on homelessness and empathy.Approximate Cost: $20 for 2 kits containing supplies like socks, comb, wet wipes, snack, etc. Exact donation needs will be included in the service packet. For the cheer card use craft supplies on hand or the printable templates provided in the service packet!Why you&#x27;ll be invited to donate:Every time we&#x27;re able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it&#x27;s with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.
