Two veteran guitarists of D.C.’s vibrant music scene, Garrett Gleason and Ryan Buell collaborated to create a new type of album.

Two veteran guitarists of D.C.’s vibrant music scene have joined forces to create a new type of album. Garrett Gleason and Ryan Buell, both known for their experimental composing styles along with sidemanning across many genres, got together at the historic club The Black Cat in October of 2021 with acclaimed engineer Sean Gotkin and recorded 3 hours of guitar improvisations. Gleason and Buell then took the recordings to their own private studios and independently concocted songs from the improvisations without limitations and with total creative control. The 15-song album, titled “Maybe We Leave” after one of the songs, is the resulting collection.
