Delve into the sculptural world and upcycling waste to create unique pieces of art.

For teens and adults 
Working alongside the current Gallery exhibition All light, all air, all space where artwork utilises natural, found and recycled materials, this workshop will be delving into the sculptural world and upcycling waste to create unique pieces of art.
In collaboration with the Goulburn Mulwaree Waste Department, we have sourced upcycled materials from a variety of ‘waste’. We will look at various ways of using these recycled materials, giving them a new lease of life in the form of your own unique 3D art piece. The options are limitless. Materials used in this workshop include off-cuts of wood, plastics, pipe, wire and steel rods. Participants will make choose materials, design and create their own sculpture using various methods of assembling and adornment, including screws, various glues, and paints. Our team will be onsite to lend a helping hand. Be prepared to get messy making and, most importantly, spend a fun few hours experimenting with 3D forms. 
About Lucinda McDonald
England-born artist Lucinda McDonald is known for her abstract sculptures which are simultaneously experimental, balances and playful. McDonald works principally with recycled steel with an acute appreciation of revitalising existing forms, pushing the medium, creating surfaces and compositions that belie the material. In each sculpture we see careful consideration in how the individual sections of steel work together constructing lyrical abstracted assemblages sensitive to colour, texture, space &amp; repetition of shapes. Organic in her process, McDonald subconsciously draws on her past with a childhood spent in South Africa and then returning to the UK. McDonald currently lives and works in the Southern Highlands.
