LUST FOR LIFE debuts this September in Dorothy as our brand new monthly rock n&#x27; roll burlesque show! Hosted &amp; Curated by Kitty Tornado &amp; Greta-X, you don&#x27;t want to miss this showcase that&#x27;s a celebration of bodies and rock n&#x27; roll.Lust for Life was born from a lifelong love for rock n’ roll and badass self-expression. Named after the iconic 1977 punk album of the same name by Iggy Pop, Kitty and Greta aim to bring a variety of rock-based burlesque and boylesque acts to Dorothy each month with their co-curated line-ups against a soundtrack of timeless riffs! Kitty and Greta hope to put on an evening that electrifies, delights, and celebrates TWO classically-rebellious forms of art TOGETHER AT ONCE: rock n’ roll music and burlesque striptease. For September&#x27;s showcase, Kitty &amp; Greta welcome in: Latte Dah, Billie Batwing, Lady Ve&#x27;Lush, Aria Forte, Slightly Spitfire, Lilly Rascal, Lady Ginger, &amp; Vivi Valens!Doors at 6:45pm and show starts at 7:30pm! Kitty spent her youth loving rock n’ roll and rejecting the values of her religious Midwestern upbringing. After majoring in Theater at University, Kitty invested her skill and passion into burlesque where she discovered meaningful camaraderie and a love for getting naked for the masses. She is a world-traveler and loves discovering different forms of music and dance from all around the globe (as well as cuisine — which she ‘grams about!). Some of her all-time favorite rock artists include Jack White, Soda Stereo, Judas Priest, Depeche Mode, and The Kills. (@katinamarguerite)Greta-X (she/her) hails from humble northcentral Ohio but moved to Chicago in 2010. Greta grew up in a poor and small, conservative community, so she quickly developed an undying fascination with rock stars on stages as the ultimate creative icons. She began collecting cassettes and CDs and dressing in her dad’s band shirts in grade school. In 2017, Greta discovered local burlesque, where she felt emboldened and free to express her true self, and performed weekly until 2020. Greta is a sex worker, image-based artist &amp; writer, curator, and arts manager whose most-loved rock acts include Depeche Mode, Roxy Music, Elton John, PJ Harvey, and Ty Segall. (@ericamckeehen)ABOUT THE PERFORMERSLatte Dah (she/her) - Energy, innovation, and a pinch of drama all in one steamy cup, Latte Dah&#x27;s love of performing started with old school musicals and movies at a young age. She pursued her passions for music and theater in college, graduating with a BFA in Theater Arts, but felt something was missing. In 2017, she took her first burlesque class and found exactly what those missing pieces were. For Latte, burlesque presents a combination of theatricality, musicality, costuming, and community that has captured her heart and imagination. She can&#x27;t wait to share the magic of burlesque with you! @originallattedahBillie Batwing (she/her) - The scourge of south Chicagoland, she&#x27;s hell on wheels: it’s Billie Batwing. She&#x27;s a practitioner of roller skate burlesque and has been identified as a cryptid in her hometown. This ferocious femme holds such esteemed titles as &quot;Little Miss Grave Bloat,” &quot;Man Eating Marathon Champion 2017,” and &quot;Least Qualified Miss America Applicant.” @billiebatwingLady Ve’Lush (she/her/QUEEN) is a full time wife and chemist, and she moonlights as a burlesque performer, cosplayer, and aspiring Broadway actress. She loves to dabble in all styles of entertainment while creating and customizing her costumes. She’s here to live her life motto: You gotta make a SCENE to BE SEEN.@lady_velushAria Forte (she/her) is a Chicago based performance artist; she’s an award winning pole artist, burlesque dancer, acrobat, and drag king. She just completed a year long Professional Circus Training Program at the Actor&#x27;s Gymnasium. Aria’s nationwide performing experience includes the Ohio Burlesque and Electric Forest Music Festival, the Mynx Extravaganza, and Midwest Pole Expo. Aria’s captivating style and mesmerizing musicality leaves audiences breathless. She’s known for her sensuality, character work, and compelling conceptual pieces. She puts the muse in music, it’s Aria Forte. @ariaforteSlightly Spitfire (they/she) is a multi-disciplinary circus and burlesque artist who has been soaring and shimmying all around Chicago for over ten years! They can currently be found doing aerial work at Untitled, Aloft, and other venues around the city. You can also take classes from them! They teach aerial arts and tumbling at Aloft Circus Arts and offer workshops at the Chicago School of Burlesque. @spitfire.acroartistLilly Rascal (she/her) teaches and tours bringing her energetic rock and roll stylings to the stage and studio. Lilly has been performing burlesque for over 10 years while teaching for 8. She has been creating rock and roll and alt burlesque productions and teaching neo burlesque all over Chicago, and she currently teaches with The Newport Theater and The Chicago School of Burlesque. You can check out one of her productions, “Way Out Wednesdays,” at Way Out Bar, for a monthly alt burlesque! @lillyrascalLady Ginger (she/her) has been bumping and grinding her way throughout the city and across the country for over 15 years. A former member of Michelle L&#x27;amour&#x27;s Chicago Starlets, Ginger is a veteran burlesque instructor and an accomplished soloist, having performed in major festivals, including the Burlesque Hall of Fame. @LadyGinger01Vivi Valens (she/her) - The Tex-Mex Minx, Vivi Valens, has been prancing and peeling in Chicago for almost a decade. She has been able to cultivate a classic, humorous, and sultry persona that always includes a surprise at the end.
