The Center for Arts at the Armory is a non-profit organization that resides in a historic Armory building, serving Somerville and the Greater Boston community and beyond as an accessible and inclusive venue for the arts, cultural and community events, exhibitions, markets, classes and more.The mission of Arts at the Armory is to provide an inclusive and accessible venue that creates opportunities for artists and cultural workers, brings diverse audiences together, enriches and transforms lives, and promotes the creative economy. In addition to the many events that CAA hosts that are produced independently of CAA, CAA has five signature programs: The Spotlight Series, The Performance Opportunity Program (POP), The Somerville Winter Farmers Market, The ROOTED Armory Cafe Event Series, and ROOTED Armory Cafe Visual Arts Exhibitions. CAA curates and produces performances in the Armory Performance Hall featuring local and touring artists as part of our Spotlight Series.

Get ready to welcome Wesli and kick off the Center for Arts at the Armory’s Spotlight Series for Fall 2022. Wesli and his eclectic Montreal band blend their unique styles to craft an exuberant, joyful music experience that will spill off the stage and move you to dancing. Bask in the playful rhythms that Wesli carries from his home in Haiti.Join us on October 27 to experience Wesli and celebrate Fèt Gede, Haiti’s Day of the Dead, and prepare to enjoy many other performance and art offerings this fall that celebrate Haitian art and traditions.About Wesli:Whether playing acoustic or accompanied by his band, Wesli consistently delivers a rich, festive and uniquely engaging sound. He conquers the heart of his audience through complex musical arrangements and universal messages of hope, truth and peace. Bringing together a wide range of Montreal talents, Wesli&#x27;s music unites Haitian roots and rara music with reggae, Afrobeat, electronic music and funk flavors.In 2021, Wesli signed with the indie label Cumbancha, who released their first single and video together, the upbeat reggae song &quot;Le Soleil Descend,&quot; on June 11, 2021. That was followed by the release of the single and video “Bontan Ilayéyé,” a fusion of Haitian vodou chants and electronic music featuring African DJ and producer AfrotroniX.
