CymaSpace has been busy! You are invited to our Open House and facility tour to see the progress we have made building a Disability Arts Center featuring a 3,000 sq ft multimedia workshop and interactive exhibits.Did you know that CymaSpace is the ONLY physical facility led and operated by the Deaf and Disabled community to support diverse and inclusive arts and culture in the entire State of Oregon? An immersive Deaf cultural space, our members and allies find refuge among locals that understand their unique needs and accessibility-related challenges. There are few places and events in Oregon where Deaf people, their families and students can meet others who use Sign Language as a primary mode of communication.Members receive mentorship by experienced community members to make art, experiment with electronics, plan workshops, and produce exhibits like the our forthcoming Ikigai Machine Experience (a multimedia workshop with education puzzles), Disability Arts Gallery Wall showcasing artwork from local NW Deaf Queer artists including Josh Gates and Jon Savage.We have big plans for our facility!
