We will not certify you if we cannot see you, so Camera's MUST be on. </strong></em></p><p>Schedule for the day via Robert Keegan, our instructor:</p><ul><li>7:50am - 8am - Attendance and troubleshooting.</li></ul><ul><li>Hours = 1 to 2: Introduction, Classification and Identification of DOT Hazardous Materials, OSHA Substances and EPA Wastes, Primary and Subsidiary Hazard Classes, Packing Groups and Use of the DOT 49 CFR 172.101 Hazardous Materials Table.</li></ul><ul><li>Hours = 3 to 4: Packaging Requirements, “Appendix A” Reportable Quantities, “Appendix B” Marine Pollutants and Special Provisions. Shipping Papers and Waste Manifests, Marking, Labeling and Placarding.</li></ul><ul><li>Hours = 5 to 8: Emergency Response Information, Training, and Security. OSHA First Responder Awareness Level. EPA Hazardous Waste Identification and Management for Very Small Quantity Generators, Small Quantity Generators and Large Quantity Generators. <h2>THE “Critical Interface” PROBLEM</h2><p>Compliance may become clearer when the “INTERFACE” is laid out as per the chart. For example, when one of the 50,000 plus Hazardous Materials is in transportation, it is subject to the DOT Regulations in 49 CFR. When used in-plant, it now is subject to the OSHA Regulations in 29 CFR. When it no longer has a value and will be discarded, it is subject to the joint DOT/EPA/OSHA Regulations in 49/ 40/29 CFRs.</p><p>If, at any time in either of these three areas, it is released or discharged from its container into the environment in an “RQ” quantity, and is not recovered, it is now a Hazardous Substance and is subject to the reporting responsibilities of the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, and SARA/Title III. Understanding these interfaces is one of the objectives of the seminar.</p>

<h1>Seminar Details:</h1><h1>SEMINAR 1.</h1><h1>THE HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, SUBSTANCES, AND WASTE COMPLIANCE AND TESTING SEMINAR</h1><p>Including the OSHA and DOT International Harmonization Requirements ANY Person Engaged in ANY Activity Involving Hazardous Materials and Waste MUST Successfully Complete an Annual/Triennial Training &amp; Testing Program </p><p>Federal law requires all persons engaged in any activity involving hazardous materials, substances, chemicals and waste to complete an updated training program on the Federal regulations requiring compliance.</p><p><strong>The Training is designed to meet the requirements for:</strong></p><h3><strong>TRANSPORTATION – HAZMAT EMPLOYEES</strong></h3><p><strong>U.S. &amp; State Departments of Transportation (Section 172.700, 49 CFR)</strong></p><p>State and Federal DOT regulations require each shipper, generator, carrier and transporter to instruct and test all company officials, employees or agents on the applicable hazardous materials regulations pertaining to their job functions and contact with hazardous materials and substances on a <strong>triennial basis</strong>.</p><p></p><h3><strong>ENVIRONMENT –ﾠ HAZARDOUS WASTE GENERATORS</strong></h3><p><strong>U.S. &amp; State Environmental Protection Agencies (Part 262, 262.14,  262.16, 262.17, 265.16, and 262.25, 40 CFR) </strong></p><p>State and Federal EPA regulations require each generator and owner/operator of a TSD Facility to ensure that all employees engaged in any activity involving hazardous waste successfully complete a training program on the applicable DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations. <strong>This requirement must be carried out on an annual basis.</strong></p><h3></h3><h3><strong>WORKER PROTECTION – HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE &amp; CHEMICAL WORKERS</strong></h3><p><strong>Occupational Safety &amp; Health Administration (Sections 1910.120, 1910.1200, 29 CFR)</strong></p><p>Protect your employees that are exposed to hazardous chemicals and substances in the workplace. <h1>SEMINAR 2.</h1><h1>TRAIN THE TRAINER SEMINAR</h1><p><em><strong>These seminars are on the same day, you can take either or,  but not both.</strong></em></p><p>HAZMAT EMPLOYERS ARE REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY TRAIN ALL HAZMAT EMPLOYEES ON “GENERAL AWARENESS AND FAMILIARIZATION, FUNCTION- SPECIFIC, SAFETY AND SECURITY AWARENESS” IN SECTION 172.700 OF 49 CFR UNDER DOT. TRAINING IS ALSO REQUIRED UNDER EPA’S “GENERATOR’S HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT STANDARD” IN SECTIONS 262.14, 262.15, 262.16, 262.17 and 265.16 OF 40 CFR AND OSHA’S “FIRST RESPONDER AWARENESS LEVEL” IN SECTION 1910.120(q) OF 29 CFR.</p><p></p><p>After completing the Hazardous Materials &amp; Waste seminar, participants registering for the “TRAIN-THE-TRAINER®” will be exposed to the most effective, successful and inexpensive means and the specific training manuals and aids to meet the required training and testing requirements mandated by State and Federal laws.</p><p></p><p><strong>REMEMBER, each HAZMAT EMPLOYEE is required to be trained on the Hazardous Materials &amp; Waste Hazard Communication Standards. If you have not met these requirements, you are in violation of the law.
