New Trifilio Tango TrioEmmanuel Trifilio, bandoneon | Julie Huang Tucker, piano | Zoë Jorgenson, double bass Sean Ericson and Jackie Pham, tango dancerTango returns to the Secret Garden with beautiful movements of dancers accompanied by the captivating sound of the bandoneon, piano, and double bass, in a program featuring the entrancing music of Astor Piazzolla, the composer who brought tango to international attention, along with other celebrated tango composers and original music by Emmanuel Trifilio, the leading bandoneon musician in the Washington DC area. Astor Piazzolla revolutionized tango with influences from classical music and jazz – and expanded its reach from the dance hall to the concert hall.Discover unforgettable works from across his 50-year career, from the mournful "Adiós Nonino" written after his father’s death, to the haunting “Oblivion” of 1982 – and of course, the famous “Libertango,” marking the transition from traditional tango to Piazzolla’s distinctive nuevo tango.<a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmKhsAv3XfKWmcXZmU8u3sx91e_Ace8gs" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Listen to a sample program here</a><h3></h3>

Concerts are presented at 5pm and 6:30pm. Visitors are encouraged to bike, walk or take the Metrorail Yellow or Blue lines to the King Street Station and take the free King Street Trolley, or DASH or Metro buses. About the RectoryBuilt in 1785 and the home of Classical Movements’ offices since 2014, the building formerly served as the rectory of the nearby historic Christ Church, once the church of George Washington. Since then, it has been owned by several distinguished Virginians and has been a commercial space since the 1960’s.
Located in the heart of beautiful Old Town Alexandria at 711 Princess Street, the Rectory is minutes away from the shops and restaurants of bustling King Street and is easily accessible by bus and metro.
