Salon No. 1: Cigars, Scotch & Live Classical Music

Fine Tobacco Club was founded in 2009 in New York City as “Fine Tobacco NYC.” It began with a simple goal: to bring together cigar smokers to appreciate the art and craft of fine tobacco together. What started as a few friends learning about cigars together has become perhaps the largest regularly meeting cigar group in the world. Each month, we bring together anyone who loves cigars, libations, and good conversation for cigar and spirits pairings, live jazz events, summer rooftop events, new product releases and more. After more than 200 gatherings over 10 years, Fine Tobacco Club now seeks to bring new experiences, friendships, and products to fine tobacco lovers everywhere.

Fine Tobacco Club

A relaxed afternoon of cigars, scotch, and live classical music from the great minds in music

Casa de Montecristo Cigar Lounge

In a world of dizzying change, true wealth is found when we are grounded in the wisdom and richness of the past.

Fine Tobacco NYC is proud to unveil a new, elevated experience bringing together the joys of cigars and live classical music in a beautiful afternoon setting. We are calling this new series of one-of-a-kind events our Salon Series.

Historically, salons were places of culture, music, and great conversation. During salon gatherings, thoughtful people pursued what Horace—the great Roman lyrical poet—defined as aims of poetry: "to please and educate." Our new Salon events are a revival of this tradition, and are intended as relaxing, uplifting afternoons of reflection and delight.

Our first Salon event, Salon No. 1, will take place on Saturday, August 27th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Casa de Montecristo (54th and 2nd ave). The event will feature the Liz Hogg classical trio (classical guitar/cello/violin), playing a selection of music from various classical artists like Vivaldi and Tournier before transitioning to music by Argentinian composers like the great Astor Piazzola.

The musical experience will be enhanced with a pairing of Dalmore 12 Year Single Malt, considered one of the preeminent single malts for pairing with cigars.

We encourage attendees to bring a copy of their favorite book, a newspaper, or notepad for journaling. While light conversation is permitted, loud talk and noise is discouraged.

This is a cigar experience unseen for decades. We hope you will join us.

Event limited to 30 seats maximum.

Salon No. 1 Agenda

1:30pm - 2:00pm: socialize and get comfortable!

2:00pm: brief introduction to Salon, The Dalmore 12, and the artists

2:10pm - 3:00pm: set one

3:00pm: brief intermission

3:15pm - 4:00pm: set two

4pm: conclude

Our Musical Program includes

Vivaldi: Trio Sonata In G Minor F.
About Dalmore 12 Year

Launched in late 2008 to replace the previous 12 year old, this single malt from the Dalmore distillery is a toasty, coffee-rich dram with beautifully spice notes and a thick mouthfeel. Very rich for a 12 year old.
