In 4,000 DOLLARS, one woman spends all of her money in one day. It’s the summer of 2024. Student loan forgiveness has been canceled. A latte costs $7. Cofinity—a bootleg New York State health insurance—considers a pelvic ultrasound “cosmetic” and therefore declines to cover it. Mary-Louise ends her day in debt. The downward spiral of financial loss is realized on stage in the physical form of a boxing ring.

TICKETS:

  • $20

100% of ticket proceeds directly support New Yorkers detained and facing deportation who cannot afford an attorney.

Reading: 7:30pm

Approximate run time: 60 minutes

VENUE:

The Church of Saint Paul and Saint Andrew

263 W 86th St, New York, NY, 10024

In partnership with The Center at West Park

BENEFITING:

All proceeds from this event will go directly to The New York Immigrant Family Unity Project. (NYIFUP) is the nation's first public defender system for immigrants facing deportation, providing free, high-quality legal representation to detained, low-income individuals in NYC and nearby areas. Founded in 2014, this coalition includes The Legal Aid Society, The Bronx Defenders, and Brooklyn Defender Services.
