<H2 CLASS="MsoTitle">40 Hour Basic Mediation Training &amp; Certification</H2>

Mediation is a forum in which the mediator facilitates communication between parties to promote reconciliation, settlement or understanding between them.  Mediation promotes peaceful, effective, and thorough conflict resolution.  (Texas Alternative Dispute Resolution Act, 1983)
Mediation has numerous applications to resolve disputes, to take an organized and structured approach to complex decisions while gaining input from numerous people with numerous opinions in a structured, and constructive process. 
Neighbors can use mediation to resolve property disputes.  Corporations can include mediation in employee grievance procedures.  It is often used by schools for interpersonal conflicts such as those between students, teacher/student, and/or teacher/parent disputes.  Any situation in which conflict arises can benefit from mediation. Most importantly, families and friends can reconcile in mediation.
IA practices a ‘conference-style, transformative model of mediation which is based on the values of "empowerment" of each party and "recognition" by each of the parties of the other parties' needs, interests, values and points of view. Relationships are transformed during the mediation. At IA, parties are kept together for direct, facilitated communication, rather than separated in different rooms, unless there are safety concerns.
In this training, participants are taught the philosophy and process of mediation, as well as the dynamics that make mediation the optimum choice for crisis stabilization of conflict in work, family, faith and community issues. Pastors &amp; ministry leaders, business owners &amp; managers, mental health providers &amp; case managers, as well as attorneys will learn valuable skills for resolving solution-focused relational issues. Even if you never perform an ‘official’ mediation, you will benefit personally in family, leadership positions of any kind and ministry endeavors! Join Us, and learn more than you expect!
**This mediation certifies you to work with anyone 18 years and older.
