About this event

  • 3 hours

Our beginner's pottery class is specially designed to teach you the basics of wheel throwing. We will cover proper posture, breathing techniques, motor functions, form, and - of course - how to make safe functional pieces (mugs, cups, bowls, and plates)! Our goal in this class is to give you the best possible clay education while keeping the vibe and atmosphere fun and inviting. This 4-week course will meet every Saturday of July (6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th) from 10 am - 1 pm. There is one make-up session per person per class so if you are sick or life gets in the way email us and we will coordinate with you! :)

Check out the agenda section next to see what we have planned for each week. For those nervous about committing to a 4-week course check out our 1-time pottery workshops!

Classes and workshops are open to anyone over the age of 10 years old, any person under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Note: Shahane will be the instructor! She has taught pottery since 2016, got her BFA in ceramic arts in 2015 from Alfred U, and owns Pudgy's Place with her husband Phillip :)

Address: Pudgy's Place, 119R Foster St. Bldg. 13 Unit 1E, Peabody MA, 01960

Frequently asked questions

Can I come for just one day?

Unfortunately, this class is specifically designed for 4-weeks. For 1-time pottery/ceramics events check out our Clay Workshops!

Is there parking?

Yes! There are parking spaces next to our business as well as additional parking in an adjacent lot.

Can we eat and drink out of the pottery we make in this class?

Yes! The clays and glazes are all non-toxic when fired in the kiln making them completely food and drink safe.

What if I miss a class or know I can't make it one week?

No worries! We can schedule a make-up session with you, if you already know you can't attend one weekend please email us ahead of time :)

Can I get this as a gift for someone?

Of course! We simply ask you to let us know via email if that's the case so we aren't confused when taking attendance.

Refunds?

Due to the nature of our business refunds aren't possible for classes. We allow 1 makeup session but unfortunately, we do not refund for skipped, missed, or unused classes.
