About this event

This class series will equip you with foundation skills such as:

  • Seams (eg. Open, Closed, French & Flat fell seams)
  • Intakes (eg. Darts, Pleats & Gathers)
  • Closures (eg. Zippers, Buttons & Buttonhole)
  • Attachments (eg. Pockets, Straps, Lacing)

The projects for this class are a Zippered Pouch and a Totebag.

The following SUPPLIES are to be procured by student prior to class.

  1. Fabric and paper scissors
  2. Pins, needles & different-color sewing threads
  3. 2yards of muslin (unbleached cotton fabric)
  4. Tape measure, tailor's chalk
  5. Notebook, pen and ruler
  6. Two (8-inch) each, regular and invisible zippers
  7. Home sewing machine (For homework)
  8. Binder with transparencies for scrapbooking
