Raffi Garabedian Octet

The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

The Sound Room

Raffi’s newest project is an octet consisting of voice, flute, tenor saxophone, clarinet, trombone, vibraphone, bass and drums. This project is an homage to his father - Raffi adapted the work from his father’s writing as an author and from his grandmother’s writing as a poet and playwright.
