The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

The Lucky Losers announce a Pre-Album Release Party for their new album, Standin’ Pat on Vizztone. Eleven original tracks that take on America, from Rich Strike, a song about the nobody horse who won the Kentucky Derby, to a cry for American unity &amp; sanity in Somewhere in the Middle, to road songs such as Pack Up The Bags, Down in Memphis Town, &amp; Try New Orleans, to the beautifully rendered love song about standing your ground in your own home town, Standin’ Pat.The Lucky Losers band are:Cathy Lemons, vocals, Phil Berkowitz, harmonica &amp; vocals, Ian Lamson, guitar, Jon Otis (the son of the legendary Johnny Otis), Chris Burns, keys, Joe Kyle on upright bass.Nominated for ROAD WARRIOR in 2022 &amp; winners of FIVE Independent Blues Awards in 2021 (including “Artist of the Year” - Cathy Lemons, “Song of the Year” Godless Land“), The Lucky Losers are San Francisco’s finest male/female duet fronted 5-piece band — a throwback to the hybrid of soul, blues, rock, gospel, and country that emerged in the late 1960’s with impassioned vocal performances, electrifying musical interplay, and powerful harmonica.
