In this workshop participants will receive an introduction to the idea of working and creating "automatically".

Hot Shops Art Center

In this workshop participants will receive an introduction to the idea of working and creating "automatically" as a way to explore the unconscious mind. Participants will then work together automatically on a 4x10' mural sized drawing in various drawing mediums of their choice. Afterwards or throughout we may take a step back and look together as a group and discuss some of the imagery that has roared from the pits of subconscious. This workshop will be a practice in what I find to be the most important parts of maintaining a healthy creative practice; Levity and playfulness, introspection, and ability to adapt on the fly. I believe collaboration is a great way to learn because it almost inherently removes our plans and attachments to the image and allows us to work freely.- Mark Sabaliauskas (Instructor)
