Cask Beer Festival on Birch St Join Roslindale Village Main Streets on Saturday, Sept 10th, from 2 pm till 5 pm, on Birch St Plaza, as we host our first “ Cask Beer on Birch Festival.” The festival will focus on some of Massachusetts’s finest independent breweries and will feature six cask-conditioned beers. By completing the secondary fermentation in the vessel from which it is served, cask-conditioned beer provides a different beer drinking experience producing a more flavorful and texture-rich product that is naturally carbonated with more flavor.The breweries providing casks include Jack’s Abby, Distraction, Aeronaut, Remnant, and Brato. Festival Attendees will receive six imperial half-pints of beer and a free 20-ounce pint glass to use at the event and to keep after. More informationThe event is rain or shine. Festival Attendees are also invited to an After Party at the Roslindale Substation, a short walk from the Plaza, where Jack’s Abby will be in residence until the end of the year.The Cask Beer Festival will be in a large enclosed area on the east side of the Birch Street Plaza. Before entering into this enclosure, and on confirmation of age eligibility, attendees will receive a wristband (applied by a member of staff and required for service), a beer card (to record the number of beers received) as well as a free beer glass. Only people wearing wristbands will be allowed into the enclosure, no children or dogs will be allowed entry.Wristbands will allow exit and re-entry into the enclosed area. No alcohol will be permitted outside of the enclosure. Wristbands cannot be transferred to another person. There will be no food served within the enclosure, and we recommend that attendees plan to eat at one of the local restaurants before or after the event.
