Join us for the Third Annual Britt Challenge on July 29, 2023, at Imperial Beach CrossFit Gym, located at 645 Silver Strand Blvd, Imperial Beach, CA 91932. The workout session will kick-off at 9 am and run until approximately 2:30 pm. Participants will be given 10 minutes to execute as many reps as possible of running, deadlifting, and pull-ups, with each rep contributing to a maximum point total.This engaging competition will be followed by an after-party commencing at 3 pm and extending until 6 pm. It promises to be a fun-filled day, and all proceeds from the event will go towards the Britt Foundation's mentorship, apprenticeship, and scholarship programs.Don't miss out on the awards ceremony post-workout, to be held at Mike Hess Brewing Company: 805 Ocean Ln, Imperial Beach, CA 91932. We look forward to your participation and support!NOTE: No problem if you can't attend the event in person, you can participate virtually. <h3>Britt Challenge Event Waiver:</h3><h3>Each participant, and parent or guardian of youth participants (“Participant”), must agree to the Britt Challenge Event Waiver (“Waiver”) for themselves and on behalf of any youth participant (any child under the age of 18) whom they are registering to participate in the Britt Challenge event taking place on July 29, 2023, from 9:00am to 3:00pm at Imperial Beach CrossFit located at 645 Silver Strand Blvd, Imperial Beach, CA 91932 (“Britt Challenge”).</h3>In consideration of Brittingham Foundation, Inc. a California nonprofit public benefit corporation (“Britt Foundation”) accepting this registration for the Britt Challenge, Participant, agrees to be legally bound and hereby waives and forever releases any and all right and claims for damages or injuries that Participant may have against Britt Foundation, and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, volunteers, directors, officers, and employees for any and all injuries to Participant, any minor under Participant’s care, or Participant’s personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by Participant or any minor under Participant’s care, during or after the event. Participant recognizes, understands, and agrees that this release is binding on Participant’s heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees.Participant also accepts and agrees to the following for her or himself, and on behalf of any youth under Participant’s care: Participant knows that running or walking in races, doing deadlifts, and doing pull ups are potentially hazardous activities. Participant should not engage in event activities, including walking, running, doing deadlifts, pull ups, or any other physical exercise or exertion (“Challenge Activities”) unless Participant is medically able to do so and properly trained. Participant assumes all risks associated with undertaking the Challenge Activities, including but not limited to: falls, contact with event participants or volunteers or with vehicles, injuries such as fractures, dislocations, spondylolysis, spondylolisthesis, intervertebral disk herniation, and meniscal injuries of the knee as well as other types of injuries associated with lifting or handling weights, injuries sustained from engaging in overhead activities, including, but not limited to impingement, tendonitis, and rotator cuff tears, any and all types of spinal injuries, all risks and danger inherent in a competitive athletic event (e.g. falls, and contact with participants and spectators at the event), the effects of weather, wildlife, traffic, transportation, and course conditions, and waive any and all claims which Participant might have based on any of those and other risks typical found in Challenge Activities. Participant acknowledges all such risks are known and understood by Participant. Participant agrees to abide by all decisions of any Britt Challenge official regarding Participant’s ability to complete the Britt Challenge safely. Participant certifies as a material condition to being permitted to participate in the Britt Challenge that Participant is physically fit and sufficiently trained for completing the Britt Challenge and that a licensed medical doctor has verified Participant’s physical condition.Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of Britt Foundation accepting Participant’s registration, Participant, for herself or himself, and anyone entitled to act on Participant’s behalf, waives and releases the Britt Foundation, sponsors and organizers, and their representatives, agents, affiliates, volunteers, employees, and successors from all claims and/or liabilities of any kind arising out of participation in the Britt Challenge, even though such liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities named in this Waiver. Participant grants permission to all the foregoing to use any photograph, motion picture, recordings, or any other record of the Britt Challenge for any purpose.Participant agrees that all registration fee payments are non-refundable, and all sales are final.When registering online and checking the box asserting that Participant has read and accepted the Waiver, Participant’s online signature shall substitute for and have the same legal effect as an original form signature.
