Jewel Lake

A short walk along Wildcat Creek and around Jewel Lake in Tilden Park. Possible highlights include fall warblers, Red-Breasted and Pygmy Nuthatch, Pacific Wren and maybe an early Varied Thrush.This trip is suitable for beginners. Bring binoculars if you have them; the leader will also have a pair to share.Rating: ModerateDistance: 2 milesElevation change: N/ALeader: Matt TarlachMeet: Parking lot at the end of Central Park Drive in Tilden Regional Park. Directions: Highway 24 to Fish Ranch Road.Go up the hill 0.7mi and turn Right on Grizzly Peak Blvd.Follow Grizzly Peak for 4.1mi; turn Right on Muir in 100 yards turn Left on Park Hills.Watch for signs to &quot;Little Farm&quot; which is near the meeting point.Continue 0.3 miles, then turn Left on Central Park Rd.Continue about 1 mile to the meeting point.This hike is limited to 20 participants.
