The Shickluna Shipyard Team is offering free public tours on August 10th, 13th and 14th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Please park at Rodman Hall, located nearby at 109 St Paul Crescent, St. Catharines, ON L2S 1M3. Please do NOT park on Renown Road!This summer, a dedicated team of students, professors and volunteers from Brock University have undertaking the second year of archaeological excavation at the 19th century Shickluna Shipyard, in St. Catharines, Ontario. Out of safety, the archaeological dig is regularly off limits to the public; and so we’ve arranged community days to share the work with you! Come by during one of our 3 x Open Days to see this amazing community project in action.The first tour begins at 11am and the last session begins at 2:30pm. Numbers will be limited to 12 persons per group. Anyone wishing to attend will need to wear suitable footwear: sturdy shoes or hiking boots advised. Please let us know that you wish to attend by RSVPing.
