Autumn Equinox Forest Bathing

Regan Stacey

Welcome in the autumn equinox and feel balanced and grounded for the season ahead.

Banningwood Preserve

Join us in honoring the autumnal equinox as we turn towards the light within and restore balance for the season ahead. On this first day of fall, enjoy a mindfully guided walk through Banningwood Preserve as we awaken the senses and the body - connecting with the cycles of nature and all of life. The walk concludes in Diana’s field with a wild-foraged tea. Please allow 15 mintues to walk back to the parking lot. Forest bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku - taking in the forest atmosphere. As a growing global wellness movement, it is backed by nearly 40 years of scientific research on the holistic benefits of immersing yourself in nature. These benefits include reduced stress and blood pressure, increased creativity and focus, improved mood and sleep, and a boost to immune functions. Folding stools are available for your use, or bring along your own stool or sit mat.The walk is about 1-mile over easy to moderate terrain. Registration: $32 ~ includes the program and tea Rain or shine event. It felt familiar and different at the same time. Your calming presence, guidance, and white pine tea were all appreciated.  – Elise Forbes I recently participated in a Forest Bathing walk with a small group led by Regan and experienced a soothing and energizing morning. Though I walk often on trails in the woods, it was somehow different to be there for the sole purpose of sensing the deep stillness and silence that nature can provide. I felt deeply connected to the earth, the moss, the trees, the rocks, and the soft, cool air. Regan gave us good suggestions on how to connect to our environment, to listen and to breathe. It was a truly immersive experience, and one I hope to repeat soon. – Mary Guitar
