An entrepreneurship event for established business owners to connect with the next generation  of business owners.

Entrepreneurship is about starting your business with an idea, plan and action! Established entrepreneurs must encourage our young people to learn the entire process of starting and running a successful business early life. This College Entrepreneurs Connecting event is for budding and start-up young entrepreneurs attending colleges and universities and looking to connect with established Black business owners throughout Gwinnett County..The g﻿uest speaker for the event is Ivan Thomas known as &quot;Mr. Defy Gravity&quot;, or simply &quot;Ivan the Great.&quot; For the last decade, Ivan Thomas has established himself as a powerful force within business, lifestyle and entertainment, elevating the public images of celebrities and big companies, as well as catapulting unknown entrepreneurs from obscurity into the spotlight. Ivan has now taken his talents into another lane – as an international motivational speaker, and author of the book Defy Gravity: Unleashing Your Greatness Within. “The message behind Defy Gravity is that in this life, we all have challenges, adversity and disappointments that, if we allow them, will keep us from our destinies,” Thomas said. “I wrote a no-nonsense book that shows people what they can achieve when they throw away the excuses, take ownership, reclaim their power and go out and relentlessly hunt their dreams. I want the aspiring entrepreneur with doubters and haters in his ear to cut ties with the negativity and launch his business. I want the woman who has been talking about writing a book for 10 years to stop being scared, stop procrastinating and share her story. I want the small business owner to stop thinking small and think like a millionaire mogul. It’s all about motivation and inspiring people to take action.”As the President and CEO of Intrigue Media Group, a strategic communications company in metro Atlanta, Thomas has a resume that boasts work with major companies and high profile figures like Nielsen, The Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Xerox, Celebrity Credit Guru James Hunt, Rev. Jesse Jackson, rapper/actor Waka Flocka Flame, NBA player Michael Beasley, actor Darrin Henson, multi-platinum producer Khao, and many others. He also owns a credit and lifestyle consulting agency and is the founder of the Defy Gravity Movement, a motivational movement birthed by his book that instills tools and strategies for success in entrepreneurs, all the way down to middle schoolers. Thomas has spoken at professional conferences and schools across the U.S., and even in places like Cartagena, Colombia, Mexico City, St. Thomas Virgin Islands and Kingston, Jamaica to name a few. Now, his focus is on taking Defy Gravity across the world and turning it into one of the most influential motivational movements on the planet. He and his team are establishing relationships with entrepreneurs and innovators around the world who are working to inspire positive change, educate in unique ways and birth the future leaders of tomorrow. Gwinnett County Black Chamber of Commerce is celebrating young entrepreneurs and the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for an equitable business and social world with this event. College Entrepreneurs Connecting is presented in collaboration with Gwinnett County Black Chamber of Commerce, Black Gwinnett Magazine, Camrose Creative Services, WeCodeAcademy, Therrell High School Alumni Association, and Urban Mediamakers.
