Join genArts and Know Future Gallery for an interactive panel/workshop centered around business tips for artists.

Know Future Gallery

Topics include how each panelist developed their creative careers, how to use social media for marketing, pricing work, self-advocacy, and creating an elevator pitch. The panel conversation will be about an hour. After we will take a couple of audience questions, followed by a 15-minute exercise in which the audience will write an elevator pitch about them/their work and workshop with one another, including the panelists.Panelists: Dio Mendoza, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/jacquelindeleon/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jacueline de Leon</a>, and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mrseanboyles/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sean Boyles</a>. Moderated by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/blacksheepmade/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Alyssarhaye Graciano</a>.Hector Dionicio Mendoza is a mixed-media artist, curator, and educator based in the agricultural community of the Salinas valley in California. His mixed-media practice includes sculpture, installation and two-dimensional works that combine natural, organic and synthetic materials. Mendoza’s work explores a wide rage of themes, including the relationship between history, race and nature. Mendoza obtained his MFA in Painting from Yale University and a BFA in Sculpture from the California College of the Arts. Recently he was nominated for the SFMOMA’s SECA Award, The 2022 Louis Confort Tiffany Foundation Award, and the 2023 Fundacion de Arte Cisneros Fontana, CIFO Award. Some of his past fellowships include the Eureka Fellowship by the Fleishhacker Foundation as well as the Sally and Don Lucas, artist in residency fellowship at Montalvo Art Center. Some of Mendoza’s current works will be included as part of the California biennial 2022 at the Orange County Museum of Art. His work has been exhibited throughout the United States, Europe, Japan and Mexico. Mendoza is currently an associate professor of Sculpture and Installation at the California State University Monterey Bay in the Visual and Public Art Department.Jacquelin de Leon is a comic illustrator and muralist from San Jose. She received her BFA in illustration from Laguna College of Art and Design and has since become an online artist brand, selling her work online and running a youtube channel. She has worked with clients such as DC Comics, EA Games, and Netflix.Sean Boyles former owner of The Arsenal, 1/4 of Know Future Gallery, Drawing Professor at Mission College, cat and chicken wrangler, San Jose Earthquakes artist, screen printer, wall painter, ocean swimmer, 3 point take and maker, soccer player, painter of rad shit and the Cyclorilla.

We hope you will join us for our second-annual, experimental exhibition experience, EMBRACE.
