Joyful Joyful are a Peterborough/Toronto-based duo of voice and electronics. From the singular voice of Cormac Culkeen an enveloping world of electro-acoustic soundscapes is woven.Their debut album (released on Idée Fixe Records) was long-listed for the 2022 Polaris Music Prize. About it, Dominionated's Jim Di Gioia says, "It’s beautiful and heartbreaking. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever heard in my life before and likely won’t ever again."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Joni Void is the musical persona of Jean Néant, a shapeshifting artist based in Montréal, QC via Lille, FR, formerly known as johnny_ripper. A self-taught artist, active since their teen years, creating what they call 'cinéma-tek &amp; cameratronica' music - the sound-world of Joni Void revolves around montage-based sound rather than instrumental composition, with a singular and compelling avant-garde style incorporating elements of ambient/drone, minimalism, rap and hip-hop beats, psychedelia, glitch, and musique concrête with influences from the experimental film world. The project extends into various collaborations, label releases &amp; live events via Néant's own platform Everyday Ago.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hsien (仙), formerly known as Old Haunt, makes sparse and meditative music that draws from drone, traditional pop, singer-songwriter, and hymnody.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Joel Elliott is a filmmaker, researcher, multimedia artist and vociferous collector and remixer of sound and image. He relishes uncovering the haunted remains of visual history and the detritus of pop culture, both through his own films and as a researcher on a number of television series and independent documentaries. He was recently selected to participate in DOC Institute’s Breakthrough Development Lab, and his short archival documentary The Great Silence premiered at Big Sky Documentary Film Festival.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Doors at 7:00pm.Music at 7:30pm.
