Step by step instructions by artist Maryanne Pollock to encourage students of all ages to discover their creative ability!In this intro to watercolor workshop you will learn three new watercolor techniques, color wheel concepts and strong composition to build a rural landscape or botanical painting. We will begin by learning painting techniques such as wet on wet, lifting and underpainting to create dynamic light and shadow. I will demonstrate step by step how to paint a rural Italian landscape and you will simultaneously freely and loosely paint on your own. Feel free to bring your own images to work from or choose from our collection! These work shops will safely follow social distancing guidelines to insure a safe and fun painting experience with a maximum of ten students.

Maryanne Pollock, a professional artist and certified art educator with years of experience teaching in such venues as the Phillips Collection, The Corcoran School of Art and Design, DCPS, DCPL, the Sitar Center, Artist in Residence for the State of Delaware, the Rehoboth Art League, the University of Maryland, and the Barrie School.
