2023 January High School Dance Workshop

The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment was founded by recently retired Dean John Bedford and Chairman Jo Rowan to educate, train and prepare dancers, managers, teachers, and choreographers for the American entertainment industry through degree programs offered by Dance and Arts Management Departments. Dance training emphasizes techniques used from Broadway to commercial dance focusing on techniques - tap, jazz, musical theater dance, rhythm tap and ballet (as used in musical theater).The School offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance Performance, Bachelor of Science in Dance Management, Bachelor of Science in American Dance Pedagogy, Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business.Admission to all dance degree programs is by selective audition.The School is located in the Edith Kinney Gaylord Center, a world-class facility for teaching arts management and dance.Former students and graduates can be found performing, teaching, choreographing or managing throughout the world, from Broadway and L.A. to Tokyo and beyond."In our opinion, no other college in the country is doing a better job of preparing versatile dancers for this industry then the Ann Lacy School of American Dance & Entertainment at Oklahoma City University" - OnStage

The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment is offering the High School Dance Workshop in person and virtually!

Oklahoma City University - Edith Kinney Gaylord Center

Oklahoma City University&#x27;s Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment is offering the High School Dance Workshop for all high school dance students. Dancers may participate in-person or virtually! The workshop includes tap technique, jazz technique, ballet technique, and a theatre dance specialty class taught by our nationally ranked faculty. Workshop classes are kept small to ensure personal attention and to provide a unique OKCU dance experience. Dancers and their families are also invited to attend Dancing with the Stars Day on January 27th starting at 9AM. This day includes opportunities to engage with faculty, staff, and students, as well as tour OKCU&#x27;s campus and dance department. An official schedule will be available closer to the workshop.For those choosing the virtual option - an email containing the links to the LIVE Zoom classes will be made available on 01/27/2023 (day before the workshop!) Workshops will be held in-person, but Oklahoma City University reserves the right to move to a virtual format based on pandemic risk levels. Details related to COVID mitigation protocols and requirements will be provided upon registration. We have a no refund policy on our dance workshop tickets. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
