The Fowler Museum at UCLA explores global arts and cultures with an emphasis on Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Americas—past and present. The Fowler enhances understanding and appreciation of the diverse peoples, cultures, and religions of the world through dynamic exhibitions, publications, and public programs, informed by interdisciplinary approaches and the perspectives of the cultures represented. Also featured is the work of international contemporary artists presented within the complex frameworks of politics, culture and social action. The Fowler provides exciting, informative and thought-provoking exhibitions and events for the UCLA community and the people of greater Los Angeles and beyond.

Discover the wider world through the power of cinema. From documentaries to art films, our curated series is designed to illuminate the diversity as well as the common threads of lived experiences of people in Asia, Africa, the Pacific, the Americas, and their diasporas. Join us for a screening of milestone short films by HRDWRKER, a Los Angeles-based video production company headed by JJ Anderson &amp; Tito Molina. HRDWRKER has been gaining momentum in the contemporary art world thanks to their recent projects featuring artists, curators, and art world insiders. Anderson and Molina will reflect on films made over the past eight years including the premiere of their latest film, Allensworth: A Temple of Black Possibilities; and talk about their dedication to principles of purpose, community, determination, and connection. They will discuss projects created in partnership with the California African American Museum, Shondaland, and Hauser &amp; Wirth, among others.
