Children will celebrate National Literacy Month by making bookmarks and collecting gently used books for kids in need.

Who this anywhere service project is for: Ages 2 - 12.Not sure if this project is the right fit for your kids? Email us with questions at programs@seedsofcaring.org What you&#x27;ll be doing: Help us celebrate National Literacy Month throughout the month of September with our Book Drive - great for groups and schools! Children will learn about the young changemaker who founded the <a href="https://www.readtosucceedfoundation.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Read to Succeed Foundation </a>and then get their hands to work by coloring bookmarks and selecting 10+ gently used books to donate to families in need. Books will then be distributed to kids in need by <a href="https://www.nnemappantry.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NNEMAP</a>. When you&#x27;ll be doing it:This anywhere service project can be done at home, school, or wherever you are! Donations may be dropped directly at NNEMAP Food Pantry. Specific donation drop off times will be listed in your service packet! How it all works:Once you have completed registration, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with a link to your service packet. This packet includes project instructions, guided discussions and more. If for some reason you cannot access this file, please email programs@seedsofcaring.org for assistance.The meaning-making: Engaging children’s hearts and minds before getting their hands active with service is a vital step in raising caring, compassionate humans. In every Seeds of Caring service packet, you&#x27;ll find quick, easy-to-use guides to support you in leading meaning-making conversations! This project&#x27;s guided discussion focuses on social action and kindness.Approximate Cost: &lt;$5 for supplies. Use craft supplies on hand, or the printable templates provided in the service packet!Why you&#x27;ll be invited to donate:Every time we&#x27;re able to design, coordinate, and offer an opportunity for kids to give back, it&#x27;s with the help of supporters like you. Please consider making a generous gift to help us continue to empower kids to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.
