Hayes Valley Carnival

PROXY is a temporary two-block project located in San Francisco which seeks to mobilize a flexible environment of food, art, culture, and retail within renovated shipping containers. PROXY is both a response and solution to the ever-changing urban lifecycle, existing as a temporary placeholder and an instigator of evolving cultural curiosities in art, food, retail and events. Our design embraces the vast diversity of a city and encourages the rotation of new ideas and businesses as well as innovative public art installations which come and go like new visitors at the site.HERE FOR NOW creates centers of cultural vibrancy through temporary art and design interventions. As an arts institution without walls, it provides equitable access to enrichment that spans public and private spheres. Through collaborations with artists and arts organizations, HERE FOR NOW works to educate and inspire, leaving a lasting legacy of optimism, promise, and a renewed sense of community.  HERE FOR NOW is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.Together, PROXY + HERE FOR NOW create something special for temporary places.

Join us for the 111th Anniversary of the Hayes Valley Carnival!

<a href="http://proxysf.net/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PROXY</a>, the <a href="https://hayesvalleysf.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association</a>, and the <a href="https://www.explorehayesvalley.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Hayes Valley Merchants Association</a> are excited to bring back the infamous Hayes Valley Carnival on its 111 year anniversary for a joyous, community-centered celebration. The original 1911 Hayes Valley Carnival was a celebration and reminder of the vibrancy and tenacity of the city post the destruction of the 1906 earthquake and resulting fires. In much the same way, this years return is a recognition of the neighborhood after two years of the pandemic – reinvigorating residents, businesses and the city at large with a celebration and bringing together of community. Join us for this FREE family-friendly event featuring FLIP*FLOP*FLY* a one ring outdoor circus show by <a href="https://www.circusbella.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Circus Bella</a>.  Enjoy pre-show performance by <a href="https://www.prescottcircus.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Prescott Circus Theatre</a>, live music by Rob Reich &amp; the Circus Bella All-Star Band, carnival activities, and food and beverages from local vendors! Special meet and greet with the cast at 4pm - 4:30pm!Saturday, July 16thCarnival from 12pm - 5pm shows at 1pm + 3pm@ <a href="https://goo.gl/maps/SwqLxT9o33CMCSW16" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PROXY</a>, corner of Hayes and OctaviaSan Francisco, CAFREE!Space is first come - first serve. Minimal audience seating on site will be provided, with turf up front for young children to be part of the action! Feel free to bring picnic blankets and small folding chairs.  Standing room will be available in Patricia’s Green and along Hayes Street and Octavia Boulevard.
