Meet up at: OUTSIDE the main entrance of Mamie D Lee Community Garden (right behind the charter school/Marys Center offices, right at the entrance of the bike trail towards Fort Totten MetroAddress: 330 Gallatin St NE, Washington, DC 20011Please aim to arrive between 6:20 and 6:40, we will do waivers and quick introductions here as everyone gathers. Join Rachel, herbalist/forager and owner of Toadstool Botanicals, on a relaxed and informative foraging walk in one of the parks of the Fort Totten/North Petworth neighborhoods (Exact location to be disclosed upon registration). Come prepared to walk a relaxed hike (less than 1.5 miles total) through some urban forests, fields, and residential areas. You will come out of this walk/workshop with a better knowledge of the plants and food around you, and how to forage responsibly and safely in Washington DC. Location: Within easy walking distance from Fort Totten metro -- there is ample parking in this neighborhood in the evenings, and access to bus lines on New Hampshire Ave NW.
