In this Sampler, let’s explore the power of words and language and how words work in us.  How can we think differently about our choices?

Join this Sampler for an introductions to our upcoming four-class series, where we’ll talk about the power of words and language and how words work in us. We’ll talk about the violence of the American lexicon: “Battleground state,” “You’re killing it,” “War on drugs.” We’ll ask: What could happen if we altered our language? Where could we grow, if we started to think differently about how the world is? And we’ll articulate the world we want to live in.Led by guest faculty member Pam Temple, we will explore how we use words and language in our culture, and how they interact with themes from our latest art exhibition, “AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.” Inspired by poetry, articles, and interviews, we will write together and explore the subconscious power of language, and how we might change the words we choose to magnify the themes of justice, hope, and redemption.Learn how we approach writing in community over Zoom, using practices honed by 30 years of experience with women writers plus many months of Zoom circles! She developed WWf(a)C to encourage women to find their voices, speak their truths, and tell their stories in a world in which they were often silenced. (womenwriting.org).The Jacksonville-affiliated school was established in 2014 by Jennifer Wolfe, evolving into a non-profit in 2018, and adding three new faculty members in 2019-2020.
