Join the Kingsland Wildflowers partners for a summer evening of hands-on activities, art, entertainment, and fun!

Kingsland Wildflowers Green Roof & Community Engagement Center

The native rooftop meadow and wildlife habitat located on the banks of Newtown Creek, a federal Superfund site, was created through a close collaboration of private and non-profit entities looking to rewrite the narrative on the possibilities of the cohabitation of ecology and industry. This annual festival aims to bring awareness to Greenpoint’s and the surrounding communities' long-standing environmental burden and its transition to a cleaner, healthier future as well as the global climate crisis and the potential for local, community-based solutions.Programming will include:<ul><li> Native plant sale and harvested seed giveaway</li><li> Creekside marine ecology activities led by Riverkeeper and Guardians of Flushing Bay</li><li> Guided green rooftop tours with Alive Structures and Newtown Creek Alliance</li><li> Family-friendly and educational activities</li><li> Food served by <a href="https://healthyasamotha.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Healthy as a Motha</a> </li><li> Beer provided by <a href="https://www.greenpointbeer.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Greenpoint Beer &amp; Ale</a></li><li> Tabling from a number of community partners including: BIGReuse; BK Story Voyager, Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park; Big Rig Farm Project; NYC DEP; Eagle Street Rooftop Farms; HOPE Program; Microscope Fun w/ American Natural History Museum; North Brooklyn Community Boathouse; North Brooklyn Mutual Aid; North Brooklyn Parks Alliance; NYC Audubon; Queens Public Library; Sane Energy and No NBK Pipeline; St. Nicks Alliance; and Transportation Alternatives. </li></ul>Performances &amp; visual arts during the Festival are presented by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/noospherearts/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">NOoSPHERE</a> Arts with dance curation by <a href="https://www.instagram.com/create.art.performance/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CreateART</a>.
