Join Vlasta Pilot as we explore the folklore, magic, and wisdom of Baba Yaga, the Hag witch from Slavic fairytales.

Baba Yaga is a sacred Slavic crone, hag witch, and death doula. Her image is steeped in shadow, but holds within it equal parts magic, transformative power, and feminine spirit. In this 2-hour gathering, we&#x27;ll overview:<ul><li>Baba Yaga and her origin story in Eastern Europe;</li><li>Positive and negative roles of Baba Yaga in Slavic Folk Tales and Soviet cinematography;</li><li>House on chicken legs and burial traditions of Slavic North;</li><li>The case against Baba Yaga: death doula and healer, or a bitter cannibal? </li><li>The Magic of Faceless Strigushka ( a straw dolly);</li><li>Baba Yaga and The Cycles of Life: processing our grief;</li><li>The Magic of &quot;Klubok&quot; ( a ball of yarn): hands on lesson on making your own magical klubok.</li></ul>Please bring:<ul><li>A notebook + pen</li><li>Loose yarn (we&#x27;ll make our own balls of yarn together)</li><li>Anything else you need to feel cozy and magical!</li></ul>———————————————NOTE:This live, online workshop will be recorded.
