The ocean presents great opportunity for humanity to achieve our vision of a long-term sustainable future for all. But with that opportunity comes great challenges that can only be met with a detailed, science-based understanding of the many ways that the ocean makes our planet an oasis of life, and the ways we might be able to work with the ocean’s natural processes to achieve that vision. This panel will address the promise that ocean science presents to society, as well as the ethical responsibilities inherent in efforts by ocean scientists to help chart a path out of our climate crisis and towards a sustainable future.Please note: This event takes place outside the UN Ocean Conference Blue Zone.
