5:30-6:00 pm: Dinner and Welcome6:00-6:30 pm: Orientation 6:30-7:30 pm: Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) TrainingOur programming is successful because of volunteers such as yourself! Come check out the variety of opportunities to volunteer with SpeakUp ReachOut in our events and in-school programming. This orientation includes a brief overview of the organization, information on ways to get involved and volunteer your time. This orientation also includes a Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR) Training, an award-winning, evidenced based, early-intervention approach to suicide prevention. This educational program is designed to teach lay and &quot;gatekeepers&quot; the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to respond. In this training we cover the background of QPR, local statistics, how to &quot;ask the question&quot;, as well as local behavioral health resources. There will also be an opportunity for Q and A, and we are happy to stay after the training to chat and answer questions.Ages 16 and up are welcome and registration is required.
