ValleyRain International, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit cultural organization, was founded in March 2015 in the San Francisco Bay Area.We were founded with the mission of building a bridge between Aisa and North America cultures.To date, we have hosted upwards of 500 cultural events in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas，Beijing, and Shanghai, among other cities. <h2>分享嘉宾介绍</h2>丁毅，理科背景的人文社科爱好者，在湾区电脑硬件制造业工作之余研究宪政问题多年，除了自学宪法学和政治学，还为了进一步理解政治行为而博览心理、历史、文化等领域的大量资料。曾在谷雨书苑分享过《自由的窄廊》、《国家认同与民族主义》、《七十年前的多党协商制宪》、《政治秩序的起源》、《从“危险人格”说起》、《人为什么难于纠错》、《翦商》等多个主题。<h2>分享内容介绍 </h2>美国是国际公认的世界历史上第一个宪政民主共和国，虽然民主的程度经历了从低到高的提升，但是宪政制度延续两百多年从未中断，被许多后进国家视为榜样，以致在中文圈有“灯塔国”之称。然而，世界各地照搬美国宪法制度设计的国家几乎无一例外反复陷入宪政崩坏，学界对此的主流意见是美国的总统制政府体制不利于宪政巩固。至于总统制在美国的成功，很多学者持“美国特殊论”，美国也确实具有很多得天独厚的有利因素。在美国宪法学界享有泰斗地位的阿克曼教授则居安思危，认为总统制的弊端有可能最终葬送美国的宪政民主制度。这场读书分享主要基于阿克曼的著作The Decline and Fall of the American Republic，讨论总统制在美国的前景以及在其他国家的适用性。<h2>活动时间和地址</h2>2023年10月14日，周六 4:00 - 6:00pm (美西时间)参与方式 (线下)：Room 100, 3160 De La Cruz Blvd Santa Clara, CA 95054敬请关注谷雨YouTube官方频道https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzuQbOXWdQZfdMLfU-w1jvg
