No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Reimagining &quot;Waste&quot;: A Creative Exploration in Sustainable Fashion (In Person)</h2><h3>Domains: Collective Action, Creative Expression</h3><p>Join us for a six-week course as we dive into the topic of Sustainable Fashion and hold the question - How can we reimagine “waste?&quot; What if we were to repair our complicated relationship with clothing and its industry? What does history have to tell us? How does history repeating itself damage our planet and our own relationship with clothing?</p><p>This class is an example of Collective Action and Creative Expression merging together. We will be discussing topics of Sustainable Fashion in small triad groups and learning new ways we can live as advocates for a more sustainable future. </p><p>We will also be engaging in some hands-on practices, learning how to:</p><ul><li>Mend our clothing</li><li>Dye with pigments from the natural world</li><li>Transform textile “waste” into beautiful artwork</li><li>And more!</li></ul><p>Jennifer Murray has a BS in Fashion Design from UC’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP). She has facilitated workshops with children, teens and adults on topics like ‘Fashion as a Feminist Issue,’ ‘Natural Dyeing Techniques,’ ‘What is Sustainable Fashion and How Do I Get Involved?’ Jennifer strives to hold brave space to discuss complex issues such as this; one that is non-judgmental, equal and considerate. </p><h3>Updated Covid Considerations: Consistent with new CDC guidance, masks are no longer required indoors at the Hive. Individuals may choose to wear a mask for personal protection, and as always, we ask anyone who is feeling sick or has a high temperature to not attend until they are recovered. We also offer a number of online alternatives if that better meets your needs.
