Shimmer Waves

Growing up with many sisters, my fondest memories were those of dancing to make each other laugh. When I was introduced to Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms,® I felt a shift in my life that affected every aspect of me. This was the medicine I had needed all along, and it was home. The many teachers I've had along this path have helped me get in touch with parts that were shut down, numbed out and bound up. While humor is still a major aspect of my movement, the dance has taught me expression and authenticity on many levels. I invite you to let movement allow your true self to have expression, it's quite liberating!

5Rhythms with Jenelle

Wave Studio Space

Firstly, thank you for your curiosity about my 5Rhythms® class. A pragmatic answer to what this class is; a lightly guided, specially curated movement meditation, encouraging embodiment and presence. This practice is for all bodies, if you can move you can dance. No choreography required, you create the movement as you go, and I will lightly guide through words and music.My hope is to give space for what is present in our bodies and to connect with our own healing and creativity. Some dancers have formal training, some have danced only in night clubs, some are complete novices to moving in community. A sort of magic happens when we stay present with ourselves in a room full of others. We find freedom, expression and permission to be as we are!I do hope you’ll join in and help (re)build this community of inclusion, inside and out. I will offer sporadically this summer and hopefully start a weekly offering in the fall.
