Project editor Ruth Sasaki discusses the Topaz Stories Project and five local authors share their writings.

Presenter Ruth Sasaki, editor of the Topaz Stories ProjectAuthors: Ann Tamaki Dion, Jonathan Hirabayashi, Cynthia Kami, Joseph Nishimura, Ruth SasakiRuth Sasaki will discuss the Topaz Stories project, how the stories were collected, and what she looks for in a story. Local authors will share writings about their families’ forced removal and experiences, mainly in Tanforan, followed by questions from participants in a panel discussion format. Topaz Stories is a project of the Friends of Topaz. It is currently staging an exhibit in the Utah State Capitol through the end of 2022. It also has a website (<a href="https://topazstories.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">www.topazstories.com</a>) with over 70 stories. Ruth is the author of The Loom and Other Stories, published by Graywolf Press.
